Have you received a piece of technology as a gift, but don’t know how to start using it? Is your New Year’s resolution to learn more about computers? Kent County Public Library can help!
KCPL offers monthly classes designed to help people become more comfortable using technology. Our January schedule is designed to give extra support to those who are learning how to use a new device or are interested in expanding how they’re currently using a device.
Digital Drop-In is an opportunity to ask technology questions in a casual and supportive small group setting. Participants can bring their devices (laptops, tablets, or other devices) along with any questions about how they work or how to use them to access library resources. Digital Drop-In is held the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month from 3-4:30pm. We’ve added a third session from 4-7pm on First Friday, January 2 so you can get started learning new things in 2015!
Computer Connections is an ongoing series of hands-on, beginner-level classes designed to make using technology a comfortable and positive experience. The class is held monthly on the 3rd Thursday at 10am and topics rotate based on interest.
The January Computer Connections class, Intro to Apps, provides a general overview of a variety of popular apps available for different devices. Participants are encouraged to bring their tablets or smart phones to the class. Space is limited and registration is required.
All technology classes are held at the Chestertown branch. For more information about technology classes at KCPL or to register for Intro to Apps, please call 410.778.3636.
