November 10, 2014 by Spy Staff

Another busy weekend in Chestertown found the Spy enjoying an exhibit and talk on Sunday at the Charles Sumner Post #15 where Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum Chief Curator Pete Lesher and maritime artist Marc Castelli fronted an exhibit of Castelli’s portraits of African-American watermen along  with a presentation about that era. The exhibit is courtesy of Dr. Mel Rapelyea, Marc Castelli and CBMM.

Here are a few highlights of the presentation.

Vermont poet and translator read from her most recent book on Sunday at another packed audience in the Bookplate Book Store. Her reading was part of a wider theme being showcased last weekend throughout town—The Art of Stewardship—with exhibits at RiverArts, Carla Massoni Gallery and SandBox Studios.
