Chester Valley Ministers’ Association will present a free concert celebrating the spirit of Thanksgiving on Tuesday, November 18th, at 12:00 noon in the Parish Hall of Emmanuel Church in downtown Chestertown. The “Songs of Thanksgiving” program features performances by Meredith Hadaway on harp, pianist Joe Holt on keyboard, Rev. Allen LaMontagne, Rebecca Pitre and Mary Simmons on guitar and vocals, Cantor Gary Schiff singing a Hebrew prayer, and more. The audience is invited to bring a bagged lunch, enjoy complimentary tea and cookies, and sing along on Day By Day from the musical Godspell.
Chester Valley Ministers’ Association (CVMA) is a non-profit organization that sponsors the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Breakfast, the Lenten Lunch Series, an interfaith Thanksgiving service, and year-round humanitarian initiatives that support the greater Kent and northern Queen Anne’s County community. CVMA funds scholarships and grants that benefit The Kent County Food Pantry, Rebuilding Together, The Good Neighbor Fund, The Samaritan Group, and other causes. As CVMA increases its outreach, additional programs are being planned for celebration as well as support and healing within the community. New members are most welcome.
