Clark Bjorke and Johnson Fortenbaugh will play early jazz, folk and Tin Pan Alley tunes in another in the New Directions series at the Mainstay in Rock Hall, MD at on Sunday October 19 at 4:00 p.m. Admission is free.
Clark Bjorke and Johnson Fortenbaugh have played living room music together one night a week for more than twenty years. For this concert, they will be joined by bassist Duane Geruschat. They usually perform at the open mic at The Garfield and occasionally at other local venues including Music in the Park and First Friday. Clark is known to Mainstay audiences the Mainstay’s regular sound engineer.
For this “New Directions” performance, the duo has expanded their repertoire to include old songs that are new to them, a couple of tunes suggested by Mainstay Director Tom McHugh, and some folk tunes they learned from other performers at the Mainstay.
The Mainstay’s “New Direction” series encourages established musicians to explore new areas and journeymen to stretch their repertoire and skills.
