Chestertown music lovers are in for a real treat this Friday, October 10 when the Eastern Shore Blues Society hosts the dynamic guitarist and songwriter Corey Harris and his Rasta Blues Experience band at the Garfield Center for the Arts at the Prince Theatre.
Awarded a McArthur Fellowship in 2007 and described by USA Today as, “ A restless explorer of roots music….who continues to examine African -American art, history and culture..,” Harris deftly combines country blues traditions and African blues guitar to create his own original version of the blues. His stellar band features Chris “Thelonius Nut” Whitely on keyboards, Gordon Jones – sax, bassist Jayson Morgan and drummer Paul Dudley. Expect to hear a compelling show of high energy roots, world, Rasta, African and soul.
