Garfield Center for the Arts is partnering with Hugh Gregory Gallagher Theatre for Time Stands Still written by the Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies with return performances on September 20 at 8pm and September 21 at 3pm.
This is a play about changing relationships and developing social issues and was nominated for two Tony Awards for Best Play and Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play for Laura Linney. It’s a moving, fabulous play with moments of comedy and reflection. Time Stands Still revolves around Sarah (Beth Anne Langrell), a photo journalist injured by a roadside bomb while covering from the Iraq War and her relationship with her boyfriend (John Swann) who was also in Iraq and how life with a physical disability and PTSD is to continue in Brooklyn. When their friend Richard, (Bill Gross) Sarah’s former boyfriend and mentor, and his much younger girlfriend Mandy (Ashley Chroniger) visit, we see how different each person’s lives are from the other.
The audience is invited to join us for a talk back session after the performance. This offers guests the opportunity to share their stories and ask questions of the cast and crew about the performance, the characters and the organizations.
This amazing production of Time Stands Still directed by Ed Langrell, HGGT Artistic Production Director, is Saturday, September 20 at 8pm and Sunday, September 21 at 3pm at the Garfield Center for the Arts at the Prince Theatre in Chestertown. Tickets are $15 adults, $5 students and may be reserved online at www.garfieldcenter.org or call the box office at 410-810-2060.
