As part of Kent County’s commemoration of the 200th Anniversary of the War of 1812, Rachel Walker will present a lecture, “Heroines and Helpmates: Women and Politics in the War of 1812” at the Mainstay in Rock Hall, MD on Sunday September 21 at 4:00 p.m. The lecture is free.
Rachel Walker is a PhD candidate at the University of Maryland, College Park. She studies early American history focusing on transatlantic cultural and intellectual networks of the 18th and 19th centuries, gender, race and ethnicity in early America and the social, cultural, and economic transformations of the early nineteenth century.
This lecture is part of Kent County’s commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812.
The Mainstay (Home of Musical Magic) is the friendly informal storefront performing arts center on Rock Hall’s old time Main Street. It is a 501(c)(3), non profit dedicated to the arts, serving Rock Hall, MD and the surrounding region.
