Harris Murphy, candidate for State’s Attorney for Kent County, has received another significant law enforcement endorsement. The Kent County Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) voted to support Murphy following presentations by candidates at their August meeting. The FOP is comprised of members from The Kent County Sheriff’s Department, The Maryland State Police, The Chestertown Police Department, and the Rock Hall Police Department.
“The endorsement of the the Kent County FOP means a great deal to me,” said Murphy. “These are the men and women I deal with on a regular basis in my role as a criminal defense attorney. Despite the fact that we have been on opposing sides, I have always had a great deal of respect for the job they do and manner in which they do it. This endorsement, I feel, indicates that respect is reciprocal — that they respect my knowledge of the law and abilities in the court room. I look forward to working with them after the election.”
The FOP endorsement is the second law enforcement endorsement Murphy has received. He was previously endorsed by the Maryland Troopers Association, Lodge 17 (Kent, Queen Anne’s, Talbot, Dorchester and Caroline counties).
