Chestertown Recreation Commission announces that it will conclude its the season of family friendly films to be shown outdoors in downtown Chestertown with “The LEGO Movie”, this Friday September 5th.
The most contemporary film in the summer series released in 2014, this animated story follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the chosen one and the key to saving his world. He is drafted into an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared. Starring the voice talents of Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Charlie Day, Will Arnett and Morgan Freeman, this film may have been marketed for kids, but has lots of fun for grown-ups too.
Children in attendance will have the opportunity to have their photos taken in giant LEGO costumes and select audience members will have the chance to win special LEGO play sets.
The movies will be shown at the Foot of High Street on the Custom House lawn. All Shows start at dusk, (approximately 8:15) and are free to the public.
Members of the CRC will be on hand to offer free popcorn courtesy Women in Need. Bring blankets and lawn chairs, (low seated are preferred).
Movie in the Park will return in October for a special Halloween showing of Ghostbusters. Rain date will be the following Friday evening.
The Chestertown Recreation Commission is an official branch of the Mayor & Council’s office charged with improving recreational opportunities, programming and facilities in the town. Anyone interested in being involved can reach Bill Arrowood, chair, at [email protected] for more updates. Residents are encouraged to check the CRC¹s Facebook page.
