JR’s Lemon Leaf Café on High St. officially took a turn toward Italia with a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the official opening of an adjoining sidewalk pizza service.
The new Limone Foglia Pizzaria Artisans Pizza, itself a slice of Italy, festooned with strings of lights and even laundry hanging from a clothesline —yes, they are the Italian national colors—exists as an alleyway with wrought iron tables tucked between the Lemon Leaf Cafe and the Christian Bookstore on the 300 block of High Street.
The event was hosted by Mayor Chris Cerino and Chamber of Commerce President Loretta Lodge and attended by a throng of supporters.
Serving up delicious artisan pizza will be the goal, so how about an Italian Alps with fontina, mushrooms sauteed in black truffle salt and butter, with micro arugula for $10 or a Sorrento with fontina, mozzarella and goat cheese, baby arugula and white sauce also for $10?
Limone Foglia Pizzaria will be open from 4PM-Close on Thursday, Friday and Saturday weather permitting and looks to be set up for fun outside dining, perfect for a summer evening. Knowing JR’s many culinary accomplishments, the pizza should be of the first order.
We welcome this new enterprise and are excited by the buzz of new businesses in that part of town.
