Ted Ramsey is reentering our art community after being away some 30 years. He grew in a family of artists on the serene Chester River at Deep Landing. His formal art education began in high school and continues to evolve through new media. He plans to return to his Chestertown roots in two years and is taking this opportunity to reintroduce himself and his works to you.
For the last 23 years, Ted has been the Resident Artist at a private, progressive K-12 school, the New School of Northern Virginia. In this role, he fosters a fun and nurturing space for children and teens to discover themselves through art. His teaching style is to demonstrate the creative process by doing his own art in their shared space and to provide a multitude of media in which they can safely experiment and create their own expressions.
The other goal of this show is to help viewers find new paths into their own psyches and souls. His watercolors transport you to the richness of our Earth. His sculptures dare you to touch them and connect with the textures of life.
Meet Ted and experience his works at the Opening Reception, Friday, July 4, from 5-8 p.m. at Chestertown RiverArts, 315 High Street, Suite 106 in Chestertown.
