The Chestertown Blues Series continues this month with the Roger Girke Blues Organ Trio, Friday, June 13, 8 pm at the Garfield Center for the Arts in downtown Chestertown.
This Philadelphia – based trio specializes in foot-stomping, grooving R & B and New Orleans style swinging original and classic blues tunes. Girke, guitarist, singer and songwriter is joined by Bill Schilling on organ and Grammy nominated drummer/producer Glen Ferracone. These seasoned musicians have clocked time in with such greats as Slim Pickins, Joey DeFrancesco, Grover Washington Jr., and Joe Cocker. This show is the second in a series of six concerts this year presented by the Eastern Shore Blues Society. Upcoming shows include the guitar slinger Debbie Davies and her band, on July 11, and the eclectic acoustic guitar blues master Corey Harris with his four piece band performing on October 10.
