RiverArts’ Musical Muse Exhibition to Celebrate National Music Festival

May 30, 2014 by RiverArts

Share

Chestertown RiverArts invites everyone to The Musical Muse opening reception on Friday, June 6, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. The show features original pieces in various mediums that are either inspired by music, showcase musical themes or capture actual musicians at their craft.

The show, curated by Philip Dutton, is planned to coincide with the National Music Festival at Washington College, which “brings together world-class mentors and gifted apprentice musicians on the cusp of their professional careers.” A special area in the Gallery will be reserved for artists that choose to document and sketch the actual festival if so inspired. With performances and rehearsals happening throughout Chestertown the first week of June, including rehearsals at the RiverArts Galleries, there will be many opportunities for live sketching and photography to capture this wonderful event. All artists are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity. RiverArts accepts the work of both members and non-members. For more information, contact exhibition coordinator William Brockschmidt at [email protected].
