Bring the family to a terrific musical production. On Friday and Saturday, May 16 and 17, at 7:30 p.m., the eighth grade class of Kent School will present Alice in Wonderland, Jr. The performance will be in the school gym, and the public is invited. Admission is free.
The play is based on the books by Lewis Carroll and the 1951 Disney film. The Carroll books are considered to be the most famous children’s books in English, and they fascinated Walt Disney, who created some of his most zany animation and memorable music for his production. The songs include “I’m Late,” “The Unbirthday Song,” “Painting the Roses Red,” and “Zip-a-dee Doo-dah.” The music and lyrics are by Sammy Fain and Bob Hillard, Oliver Wallace and Cy Coban, Allie Wrubel and Ray Gilbert, Mack David, Al Hoffman and Jerry Livingston. Book and additional lyrics by David Simpatico. The play is produced with permission from MTI. Jim Landskroener is the Director, and Kate Bennett is the Musical Director. Theresa Schram is the Art Director, with sets and props created by the students.
