First celebrated in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. This year’s theme Lives Change @your library recognizes the transformational power of equal access to information, resources, and opportunities for learning at all ages.
Libraries today are more than repositories for books and other resources. Often the heart of their communities, libraries are deeply committed to the places where their patrons live, work and study. Libraries are trusted places where everyone in the community is welcome to gather, to connect, and to engage with each other to enrich and shape the community.
In celebration of National Library Week, Kent County Public Library is pleased to be offering an array of programs for all ages — even more reasons than usual to stop by and enjoy YOUR library.
