Saturday night’s Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) concert at Chesapeake College is dedicated to Arthur H. Kudner, Jr. Kudner was a founding member and first president of the Mid-Shore Symphony Society the presenter of the orchestra’s Eastern Shore concerts.
Kudner is recalled by many as a man of clear vision and extraordinary commitment to the community. In 1970 he gathered some friends from Caroline, Kent, Queen Anne’s, and Talbot counties, and together they developed a plan to bring the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra to the Eastern Shore for periodic concerts.
That was 43 years ago, and his visionary dream is continuing today with the internationally acclaimed guest artists and orchestra musicians that come to Chesapeake College three times a year.
Subscriptions for the BSO’s 44th season can be purchased at Saturday night’s concert. There will be champagne and chocolates for the first 50 subscribers provided by Mason’s Restaurant and Town and Country Liquors of Easton. Payment can be made in cash, credit card number and check.
The concert begins at 8PM, at Chesapeake College’s Todd Performing Arts center on Saturday, March 29. Tickets are available at the door.
