The Democratic Club of Queen Anne’s County will host a Congressional Forum for Democratic candidates for Maryland District 1 at its monthly meeting on March 6. Dr. John LaFerla (Kent) and Bill Tilghman (Queen Anne’s) will face off to discuss their qualifications, visions for the country, and objectives if elected to Congress at the Club’s monthly meeting held at Fisherman’s Inn at Kent Narrows.
John LaFerla resides in Chestertown with his wife Susan. He has practiced women’s health care and public health for decades. In 2000, he opened his practice in Centreville and has delivered over 800 babies and provided care for thousands of Eastern Shore women since then. He is a strong advocate ensuring healthcare access and affordability without overregulating our small businesses, which he sees as a vital element to our local economic recovery. A native of Queen Anne’s County, Bill Tilghman spent his career as an attorney advising large companies and small start-up ventures before retiring in 2010 and returning to the Eastern Shore. Bill Tilghman cites his frustration with the political environment in Washington as the reason he is running for Congress.
