UU Church to Hear Sermon on “Acts of Faith” October 27

October 25, 2013 by

On Sunday, October 27, 10:00 AM, Ms. Pat Bjorke will give a sermon entitled “Acts of Faith.” Ms. Bjorke explains, “In an increasingly globalized culture, acts of faith can create shocking collisions of devastating magnitude. How do we begin to understand the seductive call to young people that religious extremism provides? More importantly, how do we create religious open-mindedness in our youth and ourselves? Eboo Patel, Rhodes scholar and author of the books Acts of Faith and Sacred Ground, is a young Indian Muslim who has emerged as a world visionary in the interfaith youth movement, and upholds America’s promise for charting a new direction in religious pluralism where acts of faith unite people instead of dividing them. I will introduce concepts from Patel’s books and the inspiring work of his Interfaith Youth Core.”

Join us for this important discussion this inspiring and uplifting topic. Religious education for youngsters and child care for infants and toddlers will be available. All are welcome. Please call 410-778-3440 for more information.
