On Saturday, November 2nd from 1100AM to 3:00PM, The Maryland Food Center Authority (MFCA) and The Rock Hall Waterman/Waterfront Committee are planning a Rededication Ceremony at the Rock Hall Clam House, formerly known as the Rock Hall Seafood Processing Plant, on Chesapeake Avenue. The event will take place in celebration of repairs recently completed to the existing facilities that will not only enhance the appearance of the building and the harbor, but will also provide future opportunities for economic development in Rock Hall and Kent County. The celebration will include a dedication to Captain Larry Simms, who devoted much of his life to the Maryland Waterman’s Association and the Chesapeake Bay. The public is invited to join us as we commemorate the history and heritage of the building as well as the enduring partnership that exists between the Maryland Food Center Authority and the Town of Rock Hall.
The event will include music, oyster shucking, museum displays, mural painting, demonstrations, a sampling of food from Rock Hall’s fine restaurants and much more. We look forward to a fun-filled day of community spirit and pride as we celebrate a new beginning for the Clam House.
