KC Arts Council Commemorates March on Washington

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

delivered his “I have a Dream” speech at the March on Washington.

Garfield Center for the Arts at the Prince Theatre

210 High Street, Chestertown, Maryland, 21620

5:00 to 6:00 Picnic food will be served on the lawn in front of the Charles Sumner Post.

6:00 pm*  A symbolic “March” will start at the Charles Sumner Post #25, 206 South Queen Street and move to the Garfield Center 210 High Street.

7:00 pm* The program will begin at the Theatre and include music, poetry, spoken word, and film honoring Dr. King, and the Civil Rights Movement.

Many of the posters were printed by labor organizations and carried union logos The hand made posters, reflect the sentiments listed below with appeals for jobs, education and voting rights the most prominent.  It would be nice if we could print a few Posters from the actual  March.  Let me know should you need more.
