Sultana Projects is pleased to announce that its Annual Gala, “In the Mood,” will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Clovely Farm, just south of Chestertown on the banks of the Chester River. In addition to the incredible energy provided by the community and Sultana’s supporters, “In the Mood” will feature the World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra – widely regarded as the best touring “big band” in the world.
Sultana previously hosted the Glenn Miller orchestra for its gala in 2005 – drawing both an enormous crowd and rave reviews. “We’ve been trying to schedule a return visit for several years,” commented Gala Co-Chair Brooke Logan Packard, “but with a schedule that sees the band play more than 300 shows around the globe each year, it’s been a challenge. We were thrilled the Glenn Miller Orchestra could make space for us in 2013 and grateful to our sponsors at PNC Bank for helping make this possible.”
Proceeds from “In the Mood” will underwrite scholarships for Sultana Projects’ educational programs, which serve more than 12,000 Maryland students and teachers annually. “For many of the students we serve, a Sultana Projects’ program is a life changing experience,” said Sultana Vice President Chris Cerino. “We make a huge effort to see that our programs are within financial reach of all schools and students and generally provide scholarships to more than 85% of participants. Support from the Gala is critical to funding these scholarships.”
Tickets and tables for “In the Mood” are available by visiting our Online Gala Page or by calling 410-778-5954. Pricing for individual tickets is $125/person and reserved tables are $1250 for a table of 10 or $750 for a table of 6. Ticket prices include dinner and an open bar, with much of the cost of the tickets/tables tax deductible due to the generosity of donors and sponsors of the event.
