On Sunday,July 7, 10:00 AM, Mr. Mathew Peters, Director of the Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center in Talbot County, will speak on “Immigration on the Eastern Shore” to the Unitarian Universalists of the Chester River, 914 Gateway Dr., Chestertown. Mr. Peters spent 13 years in Guatemala with the Peace Corps and international environmental organizations working to protect the natural resources of the area, leaving last year when violence in the country made his work no longer viable and threatened his life. He speaks passionately about the plight of immigrants seeking a new life in this country, why they come and how they get here. Join us for this timely discussion!
