On Sunday, March 31, 10:00 AM, Rev. Terry Ellen will deliver a sermon entitled “All Things New: A New Jesus, A New Resurrection” to the Unitarian Universalists of the Chester River, 914 Gateway Dr., Chestertown, located in the Crestview subdivision. Rev. Ellen tells us, “Paul did not mean anything like what we commonly think of as the resurrection of the body. Nor did Jesus mean anything like what we commonly think of when we hear about turning the other check, giving the coat off one’s back, going the extra mile, or giving unto Caesar what is Caesar’s. When was meant instead is a down-to-earth resurrection by Paul and teachings of Jesus that show us extraordinary, creative, non-violent ways to maintain dignity in dehumanizing situations. All are indeed good news and foundations for a happy Easter for us moderns.” Rev. Terry Ellen, an ordained UU minister for thirty years, is executive director of Unitarian Universalists for Social Justice in the National Capital Region and is recently board chair of the Chesapeake Climate Action Network.
