Jim Beauchamp, resident of Providence Farm, has filed to run in the April election for Centreville Town Council.
Beauchamp participated on the town’s Budget Committee reviewing policies and expenditures as part of the citizen work group. He has a professional background in financial analysis, financial planning, and budgeting expertise, which he intends to use in a business approach to managing the financial affairs of the town. He states, “I would like to extend our planning horizon, especially for capital improvements, and make sure we can afford what we need and need only what we can afford.”
Having worked on all sides of development transactions – as president of a neighborhood association; as a contributor to new ordinances & planning policies for a municipality; and as a private-sector developer focused on urban & commercial development, Jim believes his experience will help the town. “Centreville has a strong planning tool in its Comprehensive Plan”, he said, “but, we need a way to score, or grade, proposed developments to make sure each project is the best fit for our town”.
Beauchamp 54 years old, grew up in Texas and relocated to Queen Anne’s County 12 years ago. He has lived and worked in town since 2005, with his family Kathy, Grace, and Mack Magruder.
