Deadline for Comments on Accounting for Growth Discussion

September 18, 2012 by Spy Desk

Share

There is still time for you to submit comments on Maryland’s Accounting for Growth Discussion Draft. The state will be accepting comments until October 1, but encourages you to submit comments as soon as possible to give them time to work your comments and suggestions into the revised policy.

The Accounting for Growth Discussion Draft outlines a plan to ensure the pollution from new growth, both residential and nonresidential, is properly addressed and managed. Unless dealt with properly, the increase in pollution from population growth and economic development will hinder the Bay restoration efforts. The Discussion Draft describes how the state will continue to work towards the Bay restoration goals while offsetting the pollution from new growth.

To review the plan, visit the Maryland Department of the Environment’s website. Comments can be sent to [email protected].
