Children and their parents gathered before the front of the Chestertown Christian Bookstore this Thursday to celebrate the Kent County Library’s 50th anniversary with a historic book walk. The walk started at the Christian Bookstore to commemorate the library’s first location in 1962, stretching from there to the library’s present location. Also in attendance were Kent County library staff and their loyal companion Clover the Bunny (not to be confused with the Easter Bunny). Clover and company brought along with them old children’s books and ancient laminated texts from the first days of the Kent County Library, containing the signatures of child patrons from 50 years ago.
