As another featured event in the year-long 50th anniversary celebration, Clover Spring Bunny will visit the Kent County Public Library next week, April 3 and 4, during Chestertown and Rock Hall story hours.
Additionally, in recognition of all who have given so much to perpetuate an outstanding county library here, especially those who helped fund and open the present building, Mr. Clover S. Bunny will be leading a reenactment of the historic Library Book Walk on Thursday, April 5 at 2 PM, rain or shine.
As the county school system is closed for spring break, “youngsters” of all ages are encouraged to participate in the parade. While festive attire is optional—bunny ears, noses, whiskers, tails, and hops will be encouraged.
The big event will begin in front of the Christian Book Store, the former home of the library from September 16, 1962 through April 1, 1978. A brief history of the first 16 years of library will be presented along with new children’s books for the preschool participants in the walk. The Clover – led processional will follow in the footsteps of the 250 plus locals who walked more than 24,000 books to the new library building on Saturday, April 1, 1978.
