Spring is around the corner and that means it is almost time for the annual Colchester Farm Community Supported Agriculture (CFCSA) Kick Off event. CFCSA invites past members, potential members, and anyone who is just curious about what a Community Supported Agriculture program is to come to the farm for a Spring celebration Saturday, March 24th from 4pm to 6pm. There will be healthy food, live music, self-guided farm tours, local wine-tasting, a children’s activity, information about the health benefits of CSA vegetables, and fun. This is a free, all ages event at Colchester Farm located at 31285 Georgetown Cemetery Rd., Galena, MD just before the Sassafras River bridge in Georgetown.
CFCSA is a 501c3 tax-exempt organization that provides members in the Upper Shore of Maryland as well as the Dover, Delaware area with fresh local vegetables once a week for 26 weeks from the end of May to around Thanksgiving. Three share sizes are offered, and there are four convenient vegetable pick up locations, including our new Kent Island Farmer’s Market location. At the pick up sites, members have the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of vegetables and chat with the farmers who harvested the crops earlier in the day.
