Baltimore – November 28, 2011 —Preservation Maryland has named an advisory council to support the activities of its Eastern Shore Field Office. The group held its organizational meeting earlier this month.
Chairing the group is Audrey Scott of Queenstown, a member of Preservation Maryland’s board of directors. Other members are Gail Owings, Dr. John Seidel and Thad Bench of Chestertown; William Boyd, Dale Green and Harry Lord of Baltimore; Russell Dashiell of Salisbury; Amy Owsley of Queenstown; Kathy Washburn of Princess Anne; and Ward Bucher of Easton. Nell Ziehl represents the National Trust for Historic Preservation on the group.
Preservation Maryland’s Eastern Shore field office was created in 2009 to serve the historic preservation needs of the Eastern Shore’s nine counties. Since that time, Field Office Director Elizabeth Beckley has worked with individuals, local governments and more than 50 organizations to assess threats to historic sites and advocate for the protection and preservation of the the region’s unique collection of historic resources. Funding for the program is provided by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and individual donors.
