University of Maryland Extension and Forestry for the Bay are hosting a two-session workshop, October 19 and 26, for home owners interested in improving habitat in their yards, entitled: The Woods in Your Backyard.
Owners of even just a few acres can make a positive difference in their environment through planning and implementing simple stewardship practices. By enhancing wooded areas or creating natural areas on your lot, you can enjoy recreation, aesthetics, wildlife and improved water quality. Each workshop is two sessions one week apart. The time in-between is for the purpose of applying lessons. The sessions are designed to go over the award-winning manual and provide guidance on how to use the resources.

6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Location: Public Works Complex, 709 Morgnec Road, Chestertown, MD
