The United States Coast Guard informed Rock Hall Town Manager Ron Fithian that a buoy at the entrance to Rock Hall Inlet would be moved to “mark the best water.” The move came at the request of Fithian and the help of Congressman Andy Harris (R-MD1) and former Maryland State Delegate Richard Sossi to make the inlet easier to navigate. Fithian thanked Harris and Sossi for their efforts.
The Coast Guard said in a letter to Fithian that they would continue to “mark the best water until our assets are no longer able to do so.”
Rock Hall Harbor will need to be dredged at some point by the Army Corps of Engineers.
