D/S Michael Piasecki was on foot patrol in Millington on the 24th of September, and ‘initiated a consensual encounter’ with 28-year-old Lee Daniel Cole, who was in an area ‘known for criminal activity.’ The officer suspected Cole had illegal narcotics and paraphernalia on his person. The next sentence does not describe what if anything happened in between the officer’s suspicion and Cole attempting ‘to flee’ via his truck. Cole tried to drive off while Piasecki was leaning into the driver’s window trying to grab Cole out of the window. In the end, Piasecki took Cole into custody — and took him to the hospital for treatment. On Cole’s release from the hospital, he was charged with 1st and 2nd degree assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, cds violations and driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
