After a dismal season so far, and a less than sterling record since getting the job in August 2007, Dave Trembley has been fired as manager of the Baltimore Orioles. An eight-game losing streak topped by a loss to the Yankees yesterday prompted Trembley’s dismissal, though the team’s record has been pretty sad for nearly a decade. but this year, with 15 wins and 39 losses, the team has the worst record in the majors and are close to matching their own personal worst going back to 1988.
