Delegate Mary Roe Walkup (R. 36th District) has been honored as one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women in a ceremony held at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore on May 3rd. The award, established in 1996, is given to high-achieving Maryland women who have made an impact through their leadership, community service and mentorship.
Walkup, who has been in the Maryland Assembly since 1995, has served on numerous committees, among them: the Joint Committee on the Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays Critical Area, 2003-; Rules and Executive Nominations Committee, 2004-; and the Joint Information Technology and Biotechnology Committee, 2009. She recently returned to Annapolis after recovering from a knee injury. She lives in Worton.
