An Off-Broadway success, this play by Tom Griffin focuses on the lives of four developmentally challenged men who live in a communal residence under the watchful eye of a sincere, but increasingly despairing, social worker. Chester River Chorale Spring Concert

Tickets are available at Scottie’s Shoe Store and the Compleat Bookseller in Chestertown, and at Java Rock in Rock Hall. “The Three B’s – Beethoven, Bernstein & Beatles,” the concert theme, features Beethoven’s genius along with the music of inspired 20th century musicians Leonard Bernstein and the Beatles. Don’t miss the chorale’s final concert under direction of Ann Turpin. After eight years of inspiring leadership, Turpin will retire following the spring concert.

Don Covington’s Wood Sculptures

A clever way to use scrap wood from boat building companies and artisans, Covington, who supplies the wood to the boat builders, takes the pieces and builds sculptures and wall hangings.
Two-Hour Public Sail on Sultana
Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.
Location: Chestertown
Departing and returning from Sultana’s home port of Chestertown, the two-hour public sails are a great way to sail the Chester River onboard the colorful replica schooner representing a colorful Chesapeake history. Passengers are encouraged to help raise the sails, steer using Sultana’s seven-foot long tiller, and explore the authentically reproduced crew’s quarters below-decks. Community Health and Wellness Fair Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

John Doughten Quintet: A Tribute to the Benny Goodman Quintet

Clarinetist John Doughten has put together an all-star band for a tribute to the music of the “King of Swing.” Doughten is familiar to Mainstay regulars as the versatile reedsman (clarinet and sax) in the house band Max n’ Friends. In keeping with Goodman’s penchant for surrounding his soaring clarinet with musicians like Lionel Hampton, Gene Krupa, Charlie Christian and Teddy Wilson, Doughten has chosen Chuck Redd on vibes, Steve Abshire on guitar, Brooks Tegler on drums, and John Sheridan on piano for this tribute.
