On May 7, 2010, Kent County Behavioral Health, along with the Adolescent Substance Abuse Coalition and youth volunteers, will be holding a Youth Summit at the new Kent County Community Center. The goal of the summit is to demonstrate to local teenagers that they do have a voice in the community and extend opportunities for young people to be involved and productive as an alternative to tuning out. There will be a speaker, entertainment and food for all participants, as well as a radio commercial PSA contest and t-shirts. Our goal for the Youth Summit is to show the teens that they do have a voice in our community; there are adults out there who listen to them and care about their opinions, as well as helping them with their problems and questions. We want to extend opportunities for them to be involved and productive, as an alternative to tuning out. For future information please contact KCBH at 410-778-7918 or email at [email protected].
