Deputies will be available to receive any unused and expired prescription and over the counter medication. Do not flush medications; bring them to the Roundup sites for safe disposal. Paint the Town – Chestertown 2010

Location: Downtown Chestertown
The Chestertown Arts League is sponsoring “Paint the Town-Chestertown 2010,” a plein air weekend. This non-juried event is open to artists painting in all media and includes a “WetPaint” exhibit and sale Saturday 5 to 7p.m. at Emmanuel Church, and a “Quick Draw” Sunday 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. with awards at Wilmer Park at noon. Craig Bickhardt

Location: The Mainstay, Rock Hall
As a Nashville songwriter, Craig Bickhardt’s songs were recorded by the likes of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Trisha Yearwood, Tony Rice, Charlie Louvin, Ray Charles, B. B. King, Martina McBride, The Judds, and Dianne Schuur. He had four Number One hits – “Turn It Loose” and “I Know Where I’m Going” by the Judds, “In Between Dances” by Pam Tillis, and “It Must Be Love” by Ty Herndon. Two-Hour Public Sail on Sultana

Departing and returning from Chestertown, the two-hour public sails are a great way to sail the Chester River onboard a traditional schooner. Passengers are encouraged to help raise the sails, steer using Sultana’s seven-foot long tiller, and explore the authentically reproduced crews’ quarters below-decks. Skipjack: America’s Last Sailing Oystermen

Location: Decker Theatre, Daniel Z. Gibson Center for the Arts, Washington College
The C.V. Starr Center for the Study of the American Experience presents author Christopher White who spent two years living on Tilghman Island and working with three legendary captains of the traditional wooden Chesapeake Bay oyster boats known as skipjacks. Participants include Senior Captains Wade Murphy, Art Daniels, Stan Daniels, and Stanley Larrimore, plus family members representing three generations of watermen. Through a discussion with a group of these lively characters, we will begin to understand the challenges of living on the bay and sailing a traditional skipjack. The event will bring the audience face-to-face with a critically endangered tradition that reaches back over 100 years. Art show and reception to follow the main event.
