Once again Chestertown is the darling of the media.
Town Manager Bill Ingersoll announced at Tuesday night’s Mayor and Council meeting that This Old House magazine named Chestertown as the best old-house neighborhood in the state.
“This Old House scoured the United States, and Canada to find unique, tight-knit neighborhoods … that fit the criteria of old-house neighborhoods – architectural diversity, craftsmanship of the homes, and preservation momentum in the area as well as neighborhood amenities including walkability, safety, and community,” Ingersoll read from a press release.
One neighborhood was selected from all 50 states and Canada.
“Anything that brings recognition to this area during a difficult housing market is great,” Ingersoll said.
Chestertown is also the featured town in the April edition of Early American Life magazine.
