A domestic disturbance call to a residence on Main Street in Galena led to discovery of “brass knuckles” and criminal charges against an occupant.
Deputy Duhamell reported that Christopher Lee Baumann, 23, “began to actively interfere” when the officer arrived at the address and tried to speak with the person who had called 9-1-1.
“The accused was subsequently arrested for obstructing and hindering an investigation . . . and was found to be in possession of brass knuckles and an I.D. which had been fraudulently obtained under a family member’s name,” according to the Kent County Sheriff’s office.
Baumann was held on $10,000 bond.

A traffic infraction on Rt. 313 let to a heap of woe for James Roy Alexander, 50, of Massey.
After Alexander was stopped, the sheriff’s office reported, “indicators of criminal activity surfaced” which led to a search of himself and his truck.
“Suspected rocks of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and two loaded rifles were then located,” said the sheriff’s office.
Alexander was charged with possession of drugs and loaded firearms in a vehicle.
