The renovations are complete and LuLu’s is officially open for business.
Chestertown’s newest watering hole opened at 4:30 Friday night for First Night and again at 4:30 p.m. Saturday for the Ravens vs. Colts game.
LuLu’s is really not that different from Andy’s, said Merrick Heller. The building has been given a face lift “but there are the same liquor offerings, same prices, and there is still a stage in the back for performances.” Some familiar faces are even returning for the weekend opening.
“Jeff and Rob will be back this weekend,” Heller said.
Specials for the weekend include $2 domestics and $2 rail drinks as well as build-your-own-burgers, chicken wings, appetizers, and some entrees. There are four flat screen TVs, giving customers plenty of viewing opportunities to watch the Joe Flacco-Peyton Manning showdown.
LuLu’s, 337½ High St., is open Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturday 4:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. For more information call 410-778-6779.

I’m already a huge fan of Brix. They have great servers, a really creative menu, terrific wine list and a sophisticated atmosphere. I live downtown, so the location is very convenient. I’m so excited LuLu’s is opening tonight! Best of Luck.

I’m hoping that Lulu’s still brings the flavor to Chestertown that Andy’s did. The fact that it still is a music venue is promising but I hope that it holds up to Chestertown’s charm. I’m going tonight to get the low-down.

Where did Eliza Abbey go? I noticed her name had been erased from the window at Brix.

Merrick runs Brix and Jeff and Rob are the old Andys bartenders.

Went to Lulu’s for the first time since it was Andy’s and walked away vowing never to return. The place has no personality anymore and can’t decide whether it’s a town bar that plays music or whether it’s a sketchy hip-hop club. The blues band playing in the back was outgunned by the house dj in the sunken area. The game room has all the personality of an Antarctic morgue, and the crowd outside was bragging about how easy it was to get in and get served underage. This place needs to close or be revamped completely.
