Maryland Public Television (MPT) showcases the first installment of its latest full-length documentary series, Our Town, with the premiere of Our Town: Chestertown on December 12 at 7pm on MPTHD.
Nearly two dozen participants, ranging from a local furniture maker to a former Chief of Police, borrowed camcorders from MPT and compiled more than 20 hours of footage to answer the question, what makes your community special? The result is a one-of-a-kind look at what makes Chestertown a unique and cherished community for the people who call it home. The documentary includes interviews, footage and personal stories from lifetime Chestertown residents as well as new arrivals.
Located on Maryland’s Eastern Shore and situated on the banks of the Chester River, Chestertown is the first community that the new documentary series explores. The town’s historical significance dates back to colonial America when it was a major trade hub and integral part of the Revolutionary War effort.
Our Town: Chestertown premieres December 12 at 7pm on MPTHD with additional broadcasts on MPTHD on December 13 at 11am and December 19 at 4pm and on MPT2 on December 20 at 5pm.
