Thieves & Vandals On the Job

September 15, 2009 by Simon Kelly

Some days a local police docket is fascinating. But mostly not. Usually the incidents reported there are, sadly for news mongers, happily for residents, fairly picayune matters. And the fact is, north of the Chester, law enforcement doesn’t offer up much detail on its investigations.

Here, today from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, come a couple that taken together catch the eye.

Victim: John Robert Patnovic, 61, of Buck Neck Rd., Chestertown. Accused: under investigation. Narrative: “The owner of Worton Creek Marina reported numerous boat parts were stolen over the weekend. The boat parts have a replacement value of approximately $46,000. This case is open. . .”

Victim: Town of Millington. Accused: under investigation. Narrative: “The Town of Millington reported damage to the baseball field and bleachers located at Robvanary Park. Damage was to the dirt in the baseball field and 3 aluminum bleachers. Estimated damage is about $450.”
