WCTR announces the return of its heritage entertainment/fundraising event “Party in the Park” this Saturday June 4th, 2016 at historic Camp Fairlee at 22242 Bayshore Road, Fairlee, Maryland from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. The event will be rain or shine.
“We are thrilled to bring back this signature fundraising event, which has been such a large part of WCTR’s heritage,” said Brian Moore, one of the owners of WCTR. “The purpose of the event is really two-fold,” said Leslie Sea, co-owner, “to raise money for Easter Seals and Camp Fairlee; funds which will be used to support the camp’s ongoing services and activities for the disabled and their caretakers, and to raise awareness that such a wonderful facility exists, practically in our backyard here in Kent County.”
The four-hour event features musical entertainment with Vic Vac and the Attachments, a pig roast by Kent County Commissioner Billy Short, vendors with arts and crafts and other types of food, soft drinks and more. Parking is free, and there will be activities for kids. WCTR will also broadcast from the event. “We’ve enjoyed a great partnership with local businesses, who have been integral in presenting this event” said Moore, “We would like to thank the following: Atlantic Broadband, Kelly Distributors, The Peoples Bank, Gillespie and Sons, Inc., Apex Clean Energy, Big Networks, Eastern Shore Dental Care, Washington College, Choptank Electric, University of Maryland Shore Regional Health, The Rock Hall Business Association, Bennett’s Automotive and Price Rentals and Events. “Thanks, also, to the Chestertown Spy” for helping us get the word out.” Said Sea. “We ask for residents of Kent and Queen Anne’s counties to come out and enjoy the afternoon, while they help us raise money for a great cause.”
