All are welcome on February 4 at 6:00pm to participate in the second worldwide Harry Potter Book Night to be celebrated for the first time here in Kent County. Hosted by the Chestertown Harry Potter Festival, this unforgettable, free Night of Spells will be held at Bookplate, 112 S. Cross St., Chestertown, MD 21620.
On Harry Potter Book Night: A Night of Spells, we’ll be sharing the wonder of J.K. Rowling’s unforgettable stories and, most excitingly, introducing the next generation of readers to the unparalleled magic of Harry Potter. At Bookplate, our local “Flourish and Blott’s,” young wizards, witches and Muggles will be treated to an evening of games, activities, readings and quizzes. Participants aged 6 to 665 can join their House, competing for house points throughout the evening’s challenges. These will include wizard duels, readings from our favorite Harry Potter books and the Ultimate Spellathon trivia challenge! Come in costume to earn extra points for your house. Don’t forget your wand!
“We are so excited to be joining up with schools, libraries, bookshops and community centers throughout the world to celebrate the second annual Harry Potter Book Night,” says Rachel Perry, outgoing president of the Chestertown Harry Potter Festival. “One of the best parts of our community festival has been bringing together die-hard fans with new fans of all ages. These books inspire wonder and creativity and celebrate the best in humanity.”
