Director Tess Hogans is seeking 10 men age 17-75, 3 boys age 8-16, 6 women age 18-75 and 5 girls age 8-16 to fill the roles in Dickens’ classic tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and how he comes to understand the spirit of the Holidays.
Auditions are open to seasoned actors as well as those new to the stage. They will be held at the Garfield Center for the Arts at the Prince Theatre in Chestertown on Tuesday October 6th and Thursday October 8th at 6 pm, and Saturday October 11th at 11am. Actors will be asked to do cold readings from the script.
Julie Lawrence and her Chester River Youth Choir are partnering with Hogans; the children’s choir will be singing classic English carols interspersed throughout the play.
The show runs three weekends in December, opening December 4th, as part of Chestertown’s “Winterfest Weekend”. Shows are Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm from December 4th-December 20th.
