As part of its Seminar Series, University of Maryland Memorial Hospital Foundation presents the discussion, “Elder Care: Tax Law Update, Retirement Issues and How to Pay for Long-Term Care,” from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 21 at Centreville United Methodist Church, 608 Church Hill, Road, Centreville.
Guest Presenters are Ann Karwacki Goodman, partner in the law firm Parker Counts Melton & Goodman PC; and Billy Weber, of the insurance firm Billy D. Weber & Associates.
Topics of the discussion include an overview of funding concepts including spend down, asset transfer and traditional products to pay for long-term care; and a detailed explanation of long-term care, hybrid life insurance products and important provisions in a non-sales environment.
Goodman, a resident of Queen Anne’s County, advises clients on a broad range of planning issues. Her practice focuses on estate planning, tax planning and estate administration, with special concentration in elder law, asset protection and planning for individuals with disabilities.
Weber, of Baltimore, has 37 years’ experience coordinating with legal and accounting professionals to package appropriate and competitive products for family financial security (including estate planning) and business planning.
