A public workshop regarding land use planning around Aberdeen Proving Ground is set for June 25.
At this workshop the public will be able to review and comment on the compatibility issues that have been identified as part of the Joint Land Use Study (JLUS). Your input on additions and feedback on identified issues is welcome and encouraged. The public will also provide input on the prioritization of issues.
The Counties of Harford, Cecil, and Kent, Cities of Aberdeen and Havre de Grace, and agencies and organizations in the region are engaged in the JLUS to address compatibility planning with Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG). The JLUS will assess 24 compatibility factors and recommend strategies to address issues based on these factors which include, but are not limited to:
• Coordination / Communication • Land Use • Noise • Safety Zones • Light and Glare • Vertical Obstructions • Roadway Capacity • Air Quality
In order to develop a plan that is responsive to local needs, input from the community is essential. You are encouraged to join us at this workshop to learn more about this planning study, and provide input on the issues. This workshop will be provided in three locations for your convenience. Issues specific to each region will be discussed at each regional meeting.

Robert Kramer says
I guess not many folks are concerned about what’s happening at APG… as I was the only citizen other than Carla from county Planning who showed up.
In any case, it was a chance to prioritize my concerns based on the issues that APG has identified. While these info sessions can be viewed as strictly a public
relations exercise, the APG folks are at least making an attempt to be good neighbors.
