Local chefs are testing and tweaking recipes for the 8th Annual Taste of the Town & County, set for Sunday, April 26, noon to 3 pm in Chestertown’s Fountain Park. The event, designed to pair restaurants and diners, farm and chefs from throughout the county, has become one of Chestertown’s signature events.
Participants this year include some new faces, and those who have moved to a new location..Barbara’s On The Bay, Evergrain, Fish Whistle, Kent County High School Culinary Arts, Kitchen at The Imperial, Lemon Leaf Café, Little Village Bakery, Luisa’s Cucina Italiana, Molly Masons, My Best Friend Couture Bakery, O’Connor’s Pub, Papa Smurf’s BBQ, Piece of Cake,.Procolino’s Italian Eatery, and Sisters By Chance will all be competing for Most Creative, Best Use of Local Ingredients, and Most Flavorful dishes. The chefs will have no idea what is in the basket until just prior to showtime!
Local wines from Clovelly Vineyard, and local beers will be for sale during the event. Proceeds from a raffle and auction will go toward purchasing additional holiday lighting for the Downtown Chestertown district
As an additional treat, entries from the annual Paint the Town Quick Draw competition will be displayed along Cross Street prior to the opening of Taste of the Town.. Painters from all over the East Coast are participating in this year’s four day plein air event culminating in the Sunday morning competition.

Mickey Elsberg says
If Taste of the Town is sponsored by the Chestertown DCA and touted as “designed to pair restaurants and diners, farm and chefs from throughout the county'” why is only one of the contestants in the “Local Food Challenge” local (i.e., from Kent County?)
