Heather R. Davidson, an experienced photojournalist known for her glorious pictures and stories of life on and around the Chesapeake Bay, will present her collection of Amish photography on Monday, February 16, 1:00 pm at the Chestertown Baptist Church, 401 Morgnec Road, Chestertown, MD.
Her photographs and articles have appeared in over 50 different magazines and books and 16 calendars. Three of her photographs have hung in mural form at Baltimore-Washington International Airport and have been displayed in the rotunda at the National Museum of Natural History at the Smithsonian Institution. She has conducted many seminars on wildlife photography and outdoor subjects, including several for the Smithsonian. She exhibited her work for many years at photography and wildlife shows throughout the Mid-Atlantic area, including 27 years at the major wildlife show, The Waterfowl Festival at Easton, Maryland. In 1994 she was elected to its Hall of Fame. One of her photographs was used on a Maryland State poster in 1987 and in 1991, she co-produced six popular Mid-Atlantic States lighthouse posters. For four years she wrote and co-hosted a radio program, called “Nature in Focus” for WCTR, Chestertown, Maryland. In 2009, Heather authored a very successful second photographic book about Maryland’s commercial fishermen, titled “Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay Watermen, 1985-2005.”
Her latest photographic book is “Ospreys: Images of Their Fascinating World” and may be purchased at The Finishing Touch in Chestertown.
