The GAR-Charles Sumner Post #25 will be featuring the artwork of Kevin Harris from January 16th through the month of February.
Harris, a native of Kent County, studied commercial art in high school, and graphic layout at the Digital Arts Institute in Baltimore. He has been painting on and off for over thirty years. His rebirth as an artist occurred three years ago, and since then has focused on abstract work representing African American culture with an emphasis on spirituality and experience in the African American community today. His highly original work is painted on glass, from behind with acrylics and other mediums.
The show is being curated by local artist, Marilee Schumman.
The Charles Sumner Post #25 is located at 206 S Queen St., Chestertown.
It is open to the public:
Fridays: 4 to 8pm
Saturdays: 10am to 1pm
Sundays: 2 to 4pm

Thanks, it is a show well worth seeing. Not only because of Kevin’s perspective, but also for his unique method of painting on glass.
